Terezín
Terezín was founded as a fortress by the Emperor Joseph II in the 18th century but it was used as a political prison. G. Principe, the assassin of the Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria, died there. During World War II Terezín was converted into a concentration camp mostly for Jewish people.
